Refund policy
Return & Refund Policy
At Mushroom Culture, we want you to love every product you receive. However, we understand that sometimes a return or refund may be needed. Here’s how we handle it:
Incorrect item received:
If we’ve sent you the wrong product, we sincerely apologise. We’ll happily arrange a replacement or issue a full refund. Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order so we can make it right.
Change of mind:
If you’ve selected the wrong product or simply decide it’s not right for you, we’re happy to offer a refund (excluding shipping fees), provided the return meets the conditions outlined in our Terms (listed below). Returned items must be in new condition and in their original packaging. Once we receive and inspect your return, a refund will be issued to your original payment method. Please note: customers are responsible for return postage on non-faulty items.
Gourmet Mushroom Grow Kits
Because our Mushroom Kits are fresh, living products, we’re unable to accept returns or provide refunds if the wrong item is ordered or if you change your mind after purchase. We appreciate your understanding, as this policy helps us maintain the quality and integrity of our perishable products.
Mushroom Spawn & Cultures – Quality Commitment
At Mushroom Culture, we take pride in delivering reliable, high-quality mushroom spawn and mycelium. All of our spawn is cultivated on a blend of Aussie grown Wheat, Oats and Millet and produced under strict sterile conditions in our lab facilities to ensure purity and performance.
Before inoculation, every batch of grain is sterilised at 121°C, creating the clean foundation needed for strong mycelium growth. We guarantee that all products leave our facility free from contamination. However, once a bag has been opened or the product has been used, we cannot accept responsibility for contamination that may occur, as this is influenced by individual handling and environment.
The spawn we supply is the same trusted product we use in our own production, with strains that are regularly assessed for strength, consistency, and yield. While results will depend on your growing conditions, techniques, and substrate choice, our team is here to provide support and guidance to help you get the best from your culture.
Customer Responsibility. Please note that working with live cultures requires careful sterile technique. Contamination can occur if products are exposed to unclean conditions or improper handling. By purchasing and using our spawn, customers accept responsibility for providing suitable conditions to achieve successful results.
Keeping Your Spawn Healthy – Transport & Temperature
Mycelium is highly sensitive to heat during transport, which is why we strongly recommend selecting Express Shipping for all live mushroom products. We carefully pack and dispatch every order to maintain quality, but cannot take responsibility for losses caused by overheating when standard shipping is chosen.
Shipping rates are based on cubic weight (the size and weight of your package) and vary by location. Please note that some delivery options may not be available in certain areas.
Mushroom spawn and culture guidelines
Our mushroom spawn is designed to help you grow fresh, delicious mushrooms at home or in your project. While you’re welcome to use it to create your own mushroom harvests, please note that resale of the spawn or cultures themselves is not permitted.
Because spawn is a living product, it’s provided with the assumption that customers have some prior knowledge of mushroom cultivation. If you’re just getting started, we recommend beginning with one of our Gourmet Mushroom Grow Kits — they’re simple, fun, and a great way to learn before working with spawn.
All spawn sold is G2 (Generation 2) unless otherwise stated, making it perfect for expansion into bulk substrate and producing fresh mushrooms. Grain-to-grain transfers are not recommended, as they may reduce yield, weaken the culture, and increase the chance of contamination.
Our spawn is packaged in Unicorn 10T bags and should be kept refrigerated until use. Please note: Pink and Yellow Oyster spawn must not be stored in the fridge as it will harm or kill the mycelium.
Mushroom Spawn – Returns & Refunds
Because mushroom spawn is a fresh, living product, we’re unable to accept returns or provide refunds if the wrong item is ordered or if you change your mind. We appreciate your understanding, as this helps us maintain the highest quality for all customers.
